Mark your calendar for all dates throughout the season.  All absences must be noted on audition and registration forms.The last three Monday rehearsals are mandatory for participation.



Auditions begin Monday, January 16.  All who audition will be cast.

Audition Details: Memorize a monologue, 1 minute long (edit for time, if necessary), from Shakespeare (the No Fear version) or anything by Moliere or a comedic monologue,  preferably not from very modern plays.  It is also recommended you read the play/book so you get a better feel of the characters.

Rehearsals every Monday, 4:30-9:30pm at Garden Grove Friends Church*

*Rehearsal exceptions: No rehearsal Monday, April 9. Additional rehearsal Thursday, May 24, 4:30-9:30pm.

Tech: Monday - Wednesday, May 28-30, 3:00-10:00pm at Huntington Beach Central Library Theater (be prepared to arrive earlier and leave later on these days)

Friday & Saturday, June 1-2, 7pm

Cost: $425 plus concessions item, parent volunteer and script ($5), plus make-up. - Full payment due upon registration. If payment plan is desired, tuition will be $450 per actor, of which 50% will be due upon registration with final payment due April 9.  No exceptions.

Registration:  You may pre-register or register at the door on January 16 at 4:30pm.  Auditions will begin at 5:30pm.  All who audition must be registered.  If you are unable to continue after auditions, but before casting, we will refund all tuition paid, except $50 for Audition Fee.  After casting, no refunds will be issued.

Director Tessy Tzoytzoyrakos

Tessy has been an educator for over 19 years. She holds a M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Biola University and a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Irvine where she also studied Theater Arts. Tessy is full-time faculty with the USC American Language Institute and Adjunct Assistant Professor with Rossier School of Education where she has been developing and teaching courses for the award-winning MAT-TESOL online program.

With Alethia Christian Theater she has collaborated on the production of  several successful shows including The Man Who Came to Dinner, Right You Are if You Think You Are, Up the Down Staircase, and A Mid-summer Night's Dream. She also taught the intensive Alethia Master Class and directed the final showcase.  More recently, she collaborated on the stage adaptation of C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce.

Her previous theater and acting experience include appearing in productions such as The 10th Muse, Ulysses Come Home , Midas has Donkey Ears (all performed in Armstrong theater, Los Angeles), Antigone (performed at UCI), The House of Bernarda Alba, Twelfth Night, and the original award-winning production of A Greek Wedding. She also wrote and directed a series of short scenes featured at UCI Playwright's Workshop and the one-act play The Story of Joseph.

In her new role as Director for our production of The Hobbit, Tessy looks forward to helping our actors tap into their own unique creativity and weave the plot to a fantastical, imaginative story. It is going to be a magical season!
